    Wednesday Aug 17 | Macon County Times

    A three vehicle accident on Highway 10 South at Old Lafayette Road, about three miles from the Macon/Trousdale County line, occurred on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at approximately 1:30 p.m. and lead to a fatality. Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Cody Ballard stated that the three drivers were Colbie Anderson, 24, of Hartsville, who was driving a 1993 Toyota pickup, Ben Gregory Jr., 57, of Bethpage, TN, who was driving a 1988 Chevrolet pickup, and Clyde Allen, 45, of Brentwood, TN, who was driving a 2008 Volvo.

    On Sunday, July 3, 2016 at approximately 10 p.m., two individuals went to the home of 75-year-old Harold Howser on Purtle Road, and told him their car was overheating and they needed some water for it, according to a police report. "A short time later the two individuals, who were later identified as Christopher Mitchell and Travis Ervin, came back to the property," Sheriff Mark Gammons said.

    Local business man, Randall Clark Goodman, previous owner and operator of Express Lane, a convenience store and gas station, and the Herb Store, who lived in the Webbtown Community of Macon County, died Monday morning, January 4, 2016 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN at the age of 78. A Macon County native, Goodman worked at TRW in Lebanon, where he retired with 30 years of service. After retirement he was a self employed merchant.
