    Based on the results of the final two games of the season, the Class D seedings may not mean that much as the Section 10 Tournament opens on Saturday. In Thursday's final games in the NAC West, Harrisville recorded its second straight shutout upset downing division champion Heuvelton 1-0 after knocking Lisbon out of a first place tie with a 2-0 win on Monday.

    State police on Aug. 4 charged Dylan W. Parow, 27, of 161 County Route 23, Harrisville, with two counts of misdemeanor petit larceny. Troopers charge at 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 4 at a residence on Guiles Road, Mr. Parow stole a quantity of oxycodone pills belonging to the 72-year-old female at that residence.

    Three minors have been accused of a multitude of felonies in connection with a damage spree spanning from June 20 to 30. The names of the three boys cannot be released due to their ages - 15, 17 and 16 at the time of the crimes. Two of the boys, the 15- and the 17-year-old, were arrested Tuesday, and the third boy, now 17, awaits his fate upon his return from a family vacation.

    State police on Feb. 25 charged Christian T. Martin, 21, 121 Fullerville Road, Harrisville, with misdemeanor seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also cited with violating state sanitary code, no/insufficient tail lamps and no license.

    After making strong bids at claiming NYSPHSAA tournament championships last winter, the Canton Central and Harrisville Central boys basketball teams set the stage for a Section 10 Overall Championship rematch on Tuesday after pulling away to semifinal round wins at SUNY Potsdam's Jerry Welsh Gymnasium. Canton , which reached the NYSPHSAA Class B final last winter, and Harrisville , which fell short in overtime in the Class D semis, square off the Section 10 Overall final on Friday back at Jerry Welsh Gym starting at 8 p.m. before moving on to their respective state tournaments starting next week.
