    Harriman High School basketball coach Wesley Jones and two assistants are out following an investigation into the program by the school and the TSSAA because of violations involving AAU basketball. The decision on "removing" Jones along with assistants Quentin Young and Darren Payne were among the actions the TSSAA acknowledged in a letter sent to Harriman Principal Scott Calahan on Tuesday.

    Roane County Schools is investigating Harriman High School's boys basketball program for an alleged violation of TSSAA rules, Roane County athletic director Tony Clower told the News Sentinel on Monday. "The only thing I can say at this time is that we're investigating a violation of TSSAA rules," said Clower, who didn't elaborate.

All five scored within the first few minutes of Harriman's District 3-A showdown with Midway on Tuesday, and helped the Lady Devils cruise to a somewhat surprising 60-25 victory.

    According to an emergency dispatcher, the collapse of a sewer line at 116 Moses Lane was reported at 12:10 p.m. The Roane County Sheriff's Office requested the aid of the Knoxville Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad, which has a highly trained trench collapse team with specialized equipment.
