Jacoby Hennings, 21, of Harper Woods, was a temporary part-time Ford employee who police said arrived at the plant in Woodhaven around 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20 to discuss a labor dispute and later killed himself with a handgun after being approached by responding officers, police said.

    Officer John Biernat, suspended without pay, was arraigned Friday for use of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine, the public safety department reported. Also last week, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office announced former Harper Woods officer Michael Lynch, 37, is suspected of stealing "various items" from the department property room between Feb. 4 and Feb. 10. As conditions of his bond, Biernat must not drink alcohol or use drugs and submit to random drug tests twice a week.
