Police say the incident occurred at about 9 p.m. when a 71-year-old Hanover man arrived home and was confronted and assaulted by two men outside the residence The victim was then escorted into the residence where the suspects also confronted the victim's 73-year-old wife, who was not injured, and proceeded to take an undetermined amount of money and jewelry before fleeing in an unknown direction.

    Bolstered by work at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in York County and the York-Hanover metropolitan area fell to 4.8 percent in November, according to Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Year to year the unemployment rate for the local metropolitan area is down by 1.8 percentage points and is now a full percentage point lower than the national average of 5.8 percent, a report released Tuesday stated.
