    Richmond County sheriff's deputies assisted N.C. Adult Community Corrections June 30 in the arrests of 22-year-old Megan Victoria CAgle and 35-year-old Richard Joseph Bailey, both of Wiregrass Road, Hamlet, after investigating complaints of drug activity at their residence, according to a statement from the sheriff's office. According to warrants, the pair had an unspecified amount of meth, nine alprazolam pills and a host of drug paraphernalia, including: assorted syringes, a digital scale, foil, spoons, a clear glass pipe, a blue glass pipe, a black box with mirror residue and steel wool.

    In an effort to help the victims of the recent flooding in West Virginia, New Vision Free Will Baptist Church has been collecting supplies to take to Sunday Road Baptist Church in Hico. Wednesday night, New Vision members loaded up a stockpile of cleaning supplies, propane, bug spray, flashlights, batteries, mops, shovels, push brooms, pillows and pillow cases, ladies' undergarments, other clothes, paper towels and toilet paper - with some donations from as far away as Asheville - to take to the West Virginia town early this morning.

    According to arrest warrants obtained from the Richmond County Clerk of Superior Court's office, three men are accused in an attack that left Joshua Dominique Ellerbe with serious injuries: including a 1.5 centimeter laceration of his upper lip, closed with four sutures; a 2.5 centimeter laceration of his lower inner lip, closed with two sutures; left side rib pain; facial swelling; and a fractured jaw. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office charged 21-year-old Kevin Robert Williams, arrested the same day, 40-year-old Larry James Swinnie Jr. and 30-year-old Bryant R. Little, both arrested Thursday, each with one felony count of assault with serious bodily injury.

    Police have charged a Hamlet man for allegedly racking up more than $180 in purchases on a stolen bank card. According to warrants taken out by the Rockingham Police Department, 45-year-old Willie Harris Mudd III, of Dirt Road, south of Hamlet used the card at several Rockingham businesses.
