The new rates will become effective on Jan. 1,and include a 10 cent per 1,000 gallon increase for South Boston, Halifax and Clover water customers who use less than 24,000 gallons of water bimonthly.

In-town residents of the towns of South Boston and Halifax who use 24,000 gallons or less of water bimonthly will see their rates increase by ten cents per 1,000 gallons - moving the rate from $4.60 to $4.70 per 1,000 gallons.
