    Around 4:03 p.m. today, about a quarter of customers on Maui, or 18,451 customers, in various areas of Maui, including parts of Kahului, Haiku, Kihei, Wailea, Hana, Upcountry and West Maui, experienced an outage when a generating unit tripped offline at the Maalaea Power Plant. Cause of the trip is under investigation.
