Groveport City Council is expected to vote May 11 to allow the new Groveport Special Olympics Ohio team to hold its first large fundraiser by having supporters solicit donations at various Main Street intersections from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 13. Cassandra Hilty said her younger sister, Claire, has been participating in Special Olympics through the Reynoldsburg chapter for a few years, but the family felt there is now enough interest among families in Groveport, Canal Winchester and adjacent areas that it's time to start a local chapter.
