A few weeks ago, I learned that the city of Greenwood had spent a quarter of a million dollars to purchase land east and north of Hitt Park. The land was a 19.8 acre property in an isolated part of Greenwood, east of Allendale Lake Rd. and north of Chestnut. Comment?
During the discussion of the disbursements for the period of August 11, 2014 to September 10, 2014 at the Board of Aldermen meeting on Wednesday, September 17, Alderman Chuck Faulkenberg mentioned that expenditures were down $10 from this month last year. However, Alderwoman Rita Aholt questioned an expense of $40,000 over the allotted budget for J&N Utilities, the contracting company responsible for repairing the city's sewer lines. Comment?
