    The attorney for Johnny Hampton and Maymead Inc. aims to demonstrate that his clients have a vested right in the High Impact Land Use permit for an asphalt plant that was revoked by Watauga County earlier this year. In June, county Planning & Inspections Director Joe Furman determined a 2011 permit for an asphalt plant at 5251 U.S. 421 South near Deep Gap had expired due to lack of progress on the project.
