    Sept. 11, 2018 - The Town of Huntington remembered 43 Town residents who perished in the September 11th, 2001, terrorist attacks in a ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial in Heckscher Park Sunday, September 9. "It is hard to believe there is an entire generation of young people who do not know what it was like to experience and live with memories of that day," said Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci, who served as master of ceremonies and later addressed victims' families. "It is in the memory of your loved ones we hold this ceremony this year and every year so that we can remember your loss which remains our loss and educate those too young to have lived through that day."

Two men placed a skimming device on an ATM at First National Bank of Long Island, located at 76 Broadway, on August 15 at approximately 10:15 p.m. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

The move was made to accommodate residents of Elwood and neighboring hamlets.

Tyler Gomes was driving a 2007 Subaru eastbound on Cuba Hill Road in Greenlawn when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed into the westbound lane and struck a 2016 Toyota 4Runner, driven by Allison Raich at approximately 9:35 a.m. Gomez, 26, who was alone in his vehicle, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
