    Workers are replacing a bridge on the Owyhee Uplands Backcountry Byway that connects remote areas of southwestern Idaho and southeastern Oregon. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management in a news release Friday says work on the Current Creek Bridge about 43 miles southwest of Grand View, Idaho, should wrap up by November.

    Vermont Yankee's plan to send radioactive wastewater cross-country to Idaho "will not have a significant effect on the quality of the human environment," federal regulators have decided. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has not yet given the official green light for 200,000 gallons of water to be trucked from the Vernon plant to US Ecology's disposal facility near Grand View, Idaho.

    An Idaho couple is facing multiple counts of animal cruelty after law enforcement authorities seized more than 40 horses from their property in Owyhee County. Owyhee County Deputy Sheriff Larry Kendrick said that on Jan. 25, he responded to a call about dead horses and other livestock on a property belonging to Ray Michael Parker and Billie Jean Parker, in Grand View, Idaho.
