    Firefighters believe unattended cooking caused a fire that injured one man and displaced approximately 70 residents late Thursday at a Painesville apartment complex. The man hurt in the fire lived in a second-floor apartment where the fire started just before 9:30 p.m. at the Tropical Village Apartments on West Walnut Avenue, Painesville Fire Chief Mark Mlachak said.
