The Kent County Tactical Unit was executing a search warrant for drugs at about 4:00 Sunday morning when for reasons that have not been detailed, an officer shot a male resident.

    The driver who was allegedly behind the wheel when his car flew into the front of a Metro Transit Bus a month ago was going in excess of 100 MPH and accelerating in the seconds before he tore off the front of the bus with his car just west of Downtown Kalamazoo. The car was reportedly cutting across a grassy median at Oakland and Michigan when it flew off the curb and into the bus.

    The National Weather Service has looked at the damage in Kent County and confirmed it was a Tornado that left a 5-1/4 mile path of destruction across a rural section just to the south east of Grand Rapids Monday night. National Weather Service Meteorologist Bill Marino says they had never recorded a tornado in Michigan in February before, and there were five that struck just north of the Indiana border.
