    Despite the early morning rain, more than 1,000 people laced up their shoes and took on the 7th annual Grand Rapids Mud Run. The race is a fundraiser for the organization, 'Never the Same', with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards it, and believe it or not, the runner's' muddy shoes at the end of the race were used for a good cause too.

    Rain delayed the start of one Tour de Rapids bicycle ride early Saturday, but later rides are on track to start as scheduled. Organizers said the 60-mile ride started about 25 minutes late, but the 10-mile Family Fun Loop for single riders and the 10-mile Family Fun Ride Loop for four riders both will get under way at 11 a.m. as scheduled.
