    With a new owner in hand, local hospitality executives privately predict the Byblos Niagara Resort & Spa will soon be operating under a new nationally branded hotel flag and see a series of renovations take place at the Grand Island destination. According to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's office, Byblos Niagara LLC, the international investment consortium which has owned the former Grand Island Holiday Inn for the past two years, sold the 263-room hotel to McSam Hotel Group for $6.25 million.

Dagher, according to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's office, paid $374,000 for the one-time Eckhardt's/Kobacker's department store at the corner of Broadway and Fillmore.
