Aid has begun pouring into the hard-hit town, where thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed and many people were running low on food and facing an increased risk for cholera.

    Three people have died of gunshot wounds after a shooting was reported at 228 Macio Road in Moncks Corner at around 1:48 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury. When deputies arrived at the location, they found two dead and a third was transported to a local hospital and later died.
