    The Goldsboro Police Department arrested a second person in connection with a mid-June shooting which sent a man to Vidant Medical Center, according to a press release. Shantel Charese Atkinson, 26, of 601 Day Circle, was arrested for her alleged part in the shooting of Octavious Thompson, which took place around 3 p.m. on July 17 at the BeesTown convenience store on South Slocumb Street.
