    The wrong-way driver involved in a violent collision on U.S. 93 that sent several people to the hospital Saturday night might have been under the influence of alcohol, according to the Kingman Police Department. Roger Vanwormer, 45, of Kingman was reportedly driving south in the northbound lanes over Coyote Pass - between mileposts 68 and 69 - just after 10 p.m. Vanwormer, the sole occupant of a blue-in-color 2005 Chevrolet Sedan, crashed into a maroon 2000 Saturn sedan that was driven by Todd Gronskei.

    A little more than 5 years after he was sentenced to death for the 2006 killing of his niece, a Golden Valley man has asked for a date with the executioner. Brad Lee Nelson, 44, has fired his attorneys and seeks to put an end to any future appeals of his death sentence, which was handed down in December of 2009 and confirmed upon appeal in 2012.

    Four adults and a child were sent to Kingman Regional Medical Center Saturday night following a two-car head-on collision on U.S. 93. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes between mileposts 68 and 69 at about 10 p.m., according to Golden Valley Fire Chief Tom O'Donohue, who was the first responder to arrive on scene. Witnesses reportedly told authorities the driver of a Chevrolet sedan with Oregon plates was driving south in the northbound lanes on Coyote Pass when it struck a Saturn sedan carrying three adults and a child.

Detectives with the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested Tina Marie Rensberger, 28, of Golden Valley and James Patrick Russell, 26, on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of marijuana for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Law enforcement officers who are members of the multi-agency Gang and Immigration Intelligence Enforcement Mission - GIITEM - and the Mohave County Sheriff's Tactical Operations Unit served a search warrant at about 6:30 p.m. They were there to arrest Randy Anthony Turner, 53, who was wanted on a number of felony drug warrants.

Jose Bojorquez Soberanes, 63, was arrested on the morning of Nov. 22 shortly after he allegedly robbed the manager of Ace Cash Express at gunpoint.
