    Two brothers arguing over a dog led to one of them allegedly pulling out a gun and firing a bullet into the ground Tuesday. Mohave County Sheriff's deputies responded to a weapons offense call at a home in the 6700 block of Parker Road in a rural area north of Kingman at about 8:40 a.m. Deputies learned Stephen Michael Helmke, 26, of Golden Valley fired a round into the ground following an argument with his brother over a dog.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes between mileposts 68 and 69 at about 10 p.m., according to Golden Valley Fire Chief Tom O'Donohue, who was the first responder to arrive on scene. Witnesses reportedly told authorities the driver of a Chevrolet sedan with Oregon plates was driving south in the northbound lanes on Coyote Pass when it struck a Saturn sedan carrying three adults and a child.
