    Tourism and visitor spending supported nearly 200 more jobs in the greater Peninsula in 2017 than it did in 2016, according to Virginia Tourism Corp. data. In 2017, tourism supported 18,882 jobs on the Peninsula, along with Gloucester, Mathews and Isle of Wight counties, according to the latest Virginia Tourism-commissioned report by the U.S. Travel Association.
