    The Rebels played their second game in two days as they hosted the Mustangs of East Marshall on January 23, 2015, in Gladbrook. Following an annual tradition of the boys that are in chorus and their coach singing the National Anthem prior to the eight grade game it was time to take the court.

    AMES, IOWA A returning duo of high school seniors from North Tama and Gladbrook-Reinbeck High Schools took home the top scholarship prizes at the Beef Scholarship Extravaganza hosted by the Iowa Cattlemen's Foundation on Dec. 12. FFA students Aubree Beenken, Buckingham, and Meg Edler, Gladbrook, will each receive $1,500 in scholarship money. Beef Extravaganza took place at the Hansen Ag Learning Center on the Iowa State University campus, and 22 teams competed.

    The Auxiliary again had their winter sewing days on January 14 and 15 when an ambitious group of women and a couple men, enjoyed the time sewing, clipping and rolling carpet rags for the IVH rug looms. We had sacks of cut denim strips and want to thank those who donated their worn jeans for us.

    This 12th of January was a wintry evening as we welcomed the G-L Ambulance crew and the local fire department volunteers to the Memorial Building as the Gladbrook Legion hosted a 6:30 p.m. chili, oyster stew soup supper in appreciation of their volunteer services.
