    A 72-year-old Gilroy man killed in a solo-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning has been identified as Shinzui Sanada by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office. Sanada was driving 70 mph in the fast lane of southbound Highway 85 near Cottle Road around 1:35 a.m. when he lost control of his 1999 Toyota, according to the California Highway Patrol.

    A motorist was killed Monday morning in a collision on a rural road south of Gilroy, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported about 8:15 a.m. after a passerby spotted what looked like a vehicle collision near the crossing of Bolsa Road and Bloomfield Avenue, east of Highway 25. Initial reports say witnesses two vehicles were involved and one overturned and ended up in a ditch.
