Tharp found there was reason to suspect him of first-degree murder of a 3-year-old boy. Joseph S. Nielsen is accused of causing severe brain injuries to a child under his care Aug. 6. Caiden Fedora later died at Children's Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, of a suspected subdural hematoma, or bleeding in the brain.

    The 20-year-old Gillette man accused of first-degree murder in the death of a 3-year-old boy has been bound over for trial. In a Friday afternoon preliminary hearing, Circuit Court Judge Terril R. Tharp found there is evidence to support the charge against Joseph S. Nielsen, who is accused of causing severe brain injuries to a child under his care Aug. 6. The boy, the son of his girlfriend, later died at Children's Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, where doctors found evidence of serious injuries.
