Upon arrival, officers located a Hispanic male, 39 years of age, with a last known address in Santa Clara, was found to have been stabbed in the front upper right arm area.

    Allen Malone, 64, whose address is listed as 8 Spring Creek Road, Silver City, crashed his 2005 Toyota Camry into a tree on Rosedale Road, Monday morning, Jan. 29. According to a Silver City Police Department crash report, officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9 a.m. and Malone was transported to Gila Regional Medical Center, where he died a short time later. According to the report, witnesses interviewed did not see the crash but came upon the crash site afterward.

According to preliminary investigation, a Tan 2005 Toyota 4-door was traveling south on Rosedale Road when it left the roadway and struck a sign and then hit a tree where the vehicle came to rest.

    Silver City's District 3 Councilor Jose Ray Jr., speaking as a veteran and not as a councilor, said at the Tuesday, Jan. 9, town meeting that he was part of a veteran's color guard that was disrespected when presenting colors at a recent Western New Mexico University basketball home game. Ray stated that a few minutes before the national anthem began and the veterans presented the colors, both teams and the referees walked off the court to the locker rooms leaving about 20 people in the stands.
