    Deshaun Cash, 28, was indicted by a Sandusky County grand jury for aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault for a June 1 crash near Gibsonburg, Ohio, that killed LaToya Minniefield, 33, of Fremont and injured Brittany Minniefield, 24, of Fremont. Cash was eastbound on Sandusky County Road 65 just west of County Road 90 went he lost control, went off the road, and struck a tree.

Green, 23, died Sunday at a Gibsonburg apartment building at 735 Main St., after police said he turned a shotgun on himself just moments after police arrived at the scene.

    Residents in the usually quiet village of Woodville are vexed this week after the local police K-9 officer shot and seriously wounded a chocolate Labrador retriever that approached the scene of a traffic stop. "That dog is really sweet and has always been really sweet, and I know that because I have pulled in [to its owners' business] and he doesn't bark and and is not aggressive at all," said Megan McGinnis, a Woodville native who is studying to be a veterinarian technician at Stautzenberger College.

    A Woodville K-9 officer who on Monday shot a loose dog that approached the scene of a traffic stop has been cleared of wrongdoing, though witnesses to the incident have not yet been interviewed and the investigation is continuing. Officer Steve Gilkerson stopped a vehicle in front of Lockport Transportation at 875 E. Main St. for speeding at about 11:30 a.m. Police said a loose chocolate Labrador retriever ran directly at the officer, who was backing away, and the dog did not stop or change course when yelled at twice.

    Two northwest Ohio drivers were hurt and one was arrested after a two-car, hit-skip crash on U.S. 23 northeast of Fostoria on Sunday, troopers from the Fremont post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said. Derek Baker, 27, of Bradner, who suffered nonlife threatening injuries, was taken to Wood County Hospital and later was incarcerated in the Wood County Jail, troopers said.
