    As many continue to sit still in traffic across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee, the South Carolina Department of Transportation has come up with a plan, according to their Facebook, that will help keep US 17 open as flood waters steadily rise. In the Facebook post, it is said that SCDOT, Georgetown County Emergency Operations, and the South Carolina National Guard have developed a plan to keep open US 17 for a period of time as the flood waters rise at US 17 crossing over the Waccamaw River in Georgetown.
