    Plans are in the works to open a new water regeneration plant in Georgetown County next summer that will bring new jobs to the area, according to a press release. MPW Industrial Services is set to open the plant in the Georgetown County Business Center in Andrews, and the $10 million project is expected to create 32 jobs in addition to other temporary construction jobs.

    Georgetown County Sheriff's Office and 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit agents arrested three people on Tuesday after heroin was sold in Georgetown, according to Carrie Cuthbertson, sheriff's officer spokesperson. Adrian Akeem Cooper, 26, of Georgetown is charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin, as well as possession with the intent to distribute heroin within a half mile of a school or park.
