    Forest Grove Fire Chief Michael Kinkade, shown during a Fill the Boot event in 2014, would also serve as fire chief for Gaston Rural Fire District under a new proposal that would take effect this May. Forest Grove Fire & Rescue and Gaston Rural Fire District would share a fire chief under a plan that received the Forest Grove City Council's blessing on Monday night. The arrangement would be similar to the agreement Forest Grove already has with Cornelius - the communities have separate fire departments but share administration.

Forest Grove's School Based Health Center is offering a walk-in vaccination clinic for students not up to date on their shots prior to the Feb. 18 deadline.

The small city in western Washington County was left to randomly draw a councilor from a pool of five write-in candidates, after no one filed to run for the seat in the November election.

    Shortly before 9:20 a.m., fire crews were called to a logging road off Southwest Herr Road , near Henry Hagg Lake , said Matt Johnston, a Forest Grove Fire spokesman. The man was operating a log yarder, used to bring logs up to a landing area before they are loaded onto a truck, and the machine had tipped over, Johnston said.
