    The Lakeland Thunderbird softball season has come to a close following a 3-19 loss in the first round of the WIAA Division 2 regional softball playoffs Tuesday at Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High in Galesville. The T-Birds struggled during their season, finishing the year with a 3-17 overall record but made some significant strides forward throughout their 2016 campaign.

He said he left home a little after 8 a.m. and arrived in La Crosse after 9 p.m. However, he stopped in Whitehall for lunch and Galesville for a rest before tackling the final stretch.
