    On Thursday morning, sheriff's deputies received a report that a 38-year-old woman was missing from her Guntersville home. Brandy Michelle Moore reportedly walked away from her Alabama Highway 79 home, just south of Guntersville, on Wednesday evening at about 6:30 p.m. She is 5 feet five inches tall and weighs 165 pounds.

    The Mid-South Marching Band Festival got its start 50 years ago for a simple reason - there were no marching band competitions anywhere near here, and Emma Sansom High Band Director Rip Reagan wanted to change that. When bands from across Alabama and Georgia take the field Saturday at Titan Stadium, they will mark the 50th anniversary of the competition Reagan started in 1964, which continues today under the direction of his son, Steve Reagan, band director at Gadsden City High School.

    Gadsden Police responded to Forrest River Apartments at 515 George Wallace Drive on Monday at around 8:34 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on Vanessa Christine Lee, 41. Lee lived in the apartment with her boyfriend, Leon Marbury III, 53. Upon arrival, police found evidence that a crime had been committed at the apartment.
