- New York Merchants Protective Co., Inc. announced today it has been listed as a National Industrial Monitoring Station by Underwriters Laboratories. The designation places NYMPC into an 'elite group' that are listed by Underwriters Laboratories to monitor some of the United States government's most highly secure facilities. Already listed by UL for Commercial Burglar Alarm installation and monitoring and Protective Signaling (Fire Alarm monitoring), NYMPC's facilities had to meet an additional set of operational standards and rigid guidelines in order to be classified as a National Industrial Monitoring Station. The designation is used to indicate that NYMPC has personnel on duty who are specially trained to handle signals received from National Industrial Security Systems - systems used by the United States Department of Defense and other high-level government agencies. 'As a National Industrial Monitoring Station, we're able to offer our sophisticated systems and services to the nation's most important facilities,' says Aaron Wahrsager, Vice President of monitoring operations for NYMPC. 'These are locations that require an unmatched level of protection, and New York Merchants Protective Co. is proud to be able to help keep them secure.' Ensuring that government properties, as well as any classified information, remain safeguarded, NYMPC will be able to monitor and record the opening and closing of these facilities' security systems, and will be responsible for notifying responding government personnel to-- investigate --those signals. Underwriters Laborites provides the National Industrial certification program so that government agencies can quickly identify security contractors who possess the highest levels of quality assurance and system reliability. Organizations such as the United States Department of the Treasury can select NYMPC knowing that the monitoring will be set up and maintained in accordance with nationally recognized UL standards, as well as the National Industrial Security Program Operating Guidelines. The UL listing is NYMPC's latest step in providing greater flexibility and approved services to government organizations. The company already serves many Federal, State, City and Municipal agencies throughout the United States. About New York Merchants Protective Co., Inc.
