An investigation by Detective Gerry Lincoln of Waldo County Sheriff's Office was launched Aug. 3 after an individual contacted police with concerns that a 13-year-old boy was given marijuana by his relatives.

    A Freedom man died and his three passengers were injured Monday night after their vehicle went off North Dixmont Road in Troy and crashed into some trees. Scott Anderson Jr., 24, was driving the 2001 Chevrolet Impala at about 8:40 p.m. when he crashed into the ditch and then the trees, according to a press release from the Waldo County Sheriff's Office.
