    Fires claim thousands of lives per year, but a group of people volunteered their Saturday morning to help the people of Frankfort better prepare for an emergency. Frankfort Fire Department Chief John Kirby said, "We've gone to a lot of homes that have no smoke detectors and installing these smoke detectors is going to mean people getting woken up in the middle of the night, early morning fires and getting out of the house which we're going to be able to come in and do our job."
