    A state police sergeant was critically injured when he stopped to help a disabled vehicle in the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 on Friday afternoon in Schuylkill County. Sgt. Robert E. Bemus, director of the Honors Camp at the state police academy in Hershey as well as being involved in training programs, was flown to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for treatment of head injuries he suffered in the 3 p.m. crash in the area of mile marker 121, three miles south of the Frackville exit.

    Franchisee Matthew Lange reopened the Arby's at the Wyoming Valley Mall on Monday, the same week that Grant Avenue Development reopened the remodeled Arby's at 510 Pierce St., Kingston. Grant Avenue Development is one of the largest Arby's franchisees in the region and the Kingston restaurant is its fourth in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area.
