    A meeting of the State Reclassification Committee of the Georgia High School Association was called to order Tuesday in Thomaston, which held importance for the region alignments in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 sports seasons for Adairsville and Cartersville High Schools. Among the topics on the docket during the meeting were the proposals for Adairsville's Region 6-AAA to be subdivided into two subregions, and Cartersville's request to make a lateral transfer within Class 4A from Region 5 to Region 6. The committee approved a subdivided Region 6-AAA.
