    Two and a half years after breaking ground on a new comprehensive health care clinic in Fort Kent, Fish River Rural Health celebrated the grand opening of its expanded Bolduc Avenue Health Center on Wednesday, Nov. 14. The new facility is connected to an existing building on Bolduc Avenue which houses the clinic's dental services. At more than 10,000 square feet, the expanded portion of the health center houses services such as family practice medicine, osteopathic manipulation therapy, behavioral health and substance use disorder counseling, psychiatric medication management, family dental, family optometry, podiatry, RN care management, and health education and wellness programs.

    A pickup truck struck a utility pole knocking out power for several hours to homes in four towns on Sunday evening, likely interrupting the plans of some to watch the final game of the World Series. Justin Soucy, 35, of St. John Plantation was driving a 2015 GMC pickup traveling eastbound on Route 161 just west of Fort Kent in St. John at about 5:20 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole on the opposite side of the road, according to Fort Kent Police Chief Tom Pelletier.
