For the ninth year, hundreds of wounded veterans and their families will arrive Friday in the Crossroads for a special weekend trip hosted by the nonprofit Warrior's Weekend. Motorcyclists who join the police-escorted procession in Hillje at noon will be asked to purchase a wristband - $20 for veterans and $40 for civilians - at Victoria Harley Davidson, Duffy's Lawn and Garden or at Prasek's Smokehouse. More than 850 wounded heroes will descend on Victoria about 3 p.m. Friday at the Warrior's Weekend Field of Honor at Parkway Church, 4802 N. John Stockbauer Drive. After a brief ceremony, where they will each be able to find an American flag with their name on it, the drive to Port O'Connor will begin about 4:30 p.m. Saturday morning, heroes from Fort Sam Houston will join them for a day of fishing and great fun.
