    A man was sentenced Friday in Jefferson County Court to six months in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, five years' probation and a $2,500 fine in connection with a driving-while-intoxicated charge in October. His license was also revoked and he was ordered to install an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he owns or operates.

The orchestra's summer pops concert features a theme each year, ranging from Broadway to “Music From Space.” This year's concert has an Americana slant.

Through a partnership with Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, Samaritan Medical Center, Carthage Area Hospital, River Hospital in Alexandria Bay and Ogdensburg's Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center have all begun using telemedicine to rapidly treat stroke sufferers that arrive in their emergency departments.

    Vernell I. McMickens, 44, Buffalo, was charged by city police about 11:40 p.m. with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. It is alleged that she struck Stanley E. Stevens, 130 Wyoming Ave., in the face with an open hand on the sidewalk outside 845 Starbuck Ave. It is also alleged that she held onto Mr. Stevens in an attempt to prevent officers from taking her into custody.

Campany, 70, of 34711 Route 26, was also sentenced in U.S. District Court, Syracuse, to five years' probation after pleading guilty Feb. 12 to theft of government money.
