The Protection of Military Airfields from Wind Turbine Encroachment Act would, if signed into law, incorporate revisions to the Internal Revenue Code that will prevent wind energy developers from pursuing renewable electricity production credit and energy credits, both of which provide tax relief, for projects within tens of miles from military airfields.

    Village police on Thursday charged Joshua R. Callender, 20, of Fort Drum, with two counts of felony second-degree rape and misdemeanor criminal obstruction of breathing. Police said that Callender was turned over to them by Fort Drum authorities following investigation of incidences occurring in May and June 2016 in the Village of Gouverneur involving a 14 year old victim.
