    An Oakland man has been charged with the homicide of a man and woman in Fort Bragg in October 2013, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office reported. According to the original press release, the two were found dead on Oct. 17, 2013, in a minivan at the “Bark Dump,” near Highway 20 in Fort Bragg, by MCSO deputies who were sent on a call about a suspicious vehicle parked there.

    The highlight of the Chamberlain Creek trail is this 50-foot waterfall deep in the Jackson Demonstration State Forest off Highway 20. Now that the rain has slowed and the ground is drying up a bit, it's time to venture out and enjoy the changes the extra wet winter has made to the outdoors, including some extra-full waterfalls. And while there are plenty of lists circulating that mention two of Mendocino County's waterfalls, which are both either on or near the coast, there is one much closer to Ukiah that is often overlooked: the cascading waterfall along the Mayacamas Trail on Cow Mountain.

    A Fort Bragg man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence and evading after allegedly trying to run away from a traffic stop, the Fort Bragg Police Department reported. According to the FBPD, an officer stopped a green Toyota Corolla heading southbound in the 400 block of South Franklin Street around 8:45 p.m. April 2 for non-functioning tail lights.
