This bill, sponsored by District 28 Sen. Howie Morales, would open the door for the village and the Fort Bayard Historic Preservation Society to expand the restoration work of the buildings left so long to decay by the state government.

    For more than 50 years, the Tyrone Volunteer Fire and Rescue has been celebrating Christmas early by bringing Santa out on a firetruck to visit the children of Tyrone and handing out candy and goodies. Currently, an estimated 40,000 gallons of effluent just from the city of Bayard is dumped over pilings at the Chino Mine - owned by Freeport-McMoRan - which no longer wants the water anyway.

    Residents of Santa Clara will soon have another internet service provider to choose from since the village recently approved a master agreement and franchise agreement with WNM Communications, allowing them to provide service in the village.
