    Forest Grove Light & Power cut down a 50-foot cedar tree on Pacific University's campus around 4:15 p.m. Dec. 11. When winds took a large branch off the tree, exposing interior rot about 10 feet up from its base, employees from Pacific's Facilities Management department called power officials for help. They feared the tree might be a danger to drivers on the adjacent thoroughfare, Pacific Avenue.
