The sixth-year coach guided his squad to a gritty 34-24 win over Willamette in a Class 6A play-in game on Saturday night, then on Sunday he rushed to the hospital with his wife, Christina, who gave birth to their second child less than 24 hours after the Vikings finished their postgame celebration.
