John Marsden, 49, and John Lindermuth, 74, hiked to the Mt Baldy Summit Monday but on their return trip they got lost and were separated from each other, according to a sheriff's statement.

    Sheriff's deputies from Fontana arrested a Bloomington man in his home Sunday evening on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl. Hector Gutierrez, 22, was arrested at his Larch Avenue home after deputies received a tip that Gutierrez was hiding his 15-year-old girlfriend who was reported as a runaway, according to a sheriff's press release.

    Ivette Celia Delgado Arauz, 32 of Rancho Cucamonga, was pronounced dead after a tow truck traveling at an unsafe speed rear-ended her Honda Fit, a sub-compact car, about 8:30 a.m., California Highway Patrol officials said in a news release. The tow truck, owned and operated by Rodrigo Marin Mota, was unable to stop as he approached the Sierra Avenue offramp where traffic ahead of him was at a standstill, according to the CHP.

    San Bernardino County's largest labor union is losing 840 of its members to Service Employees International Union Local 721 following an election in which 74 percent of the bargaining unit's voters opted for SEIU representation. A ballot count Monday conducted by a state mediator revealed that of the 591 votes counted, 447 members of SBPEA's professional unit voted for SEIU representation while 137, or 23 percent, voted for continued representation by SBPEA, SBPEA General Manager Deidre Rodriguez said.

Figures released Friday from the Labor Department show that U.S. employers added a healthy 295,000 jobs in February and the nation's unemployment rate dropped to a post-recession low of 5.5 percent compared with 5.7 percent in December and 6.7 percent a year earlier.
