Now it has come to light that Zacarias Moussaoui, a former al-Qaeda operative held in federal prison in Florence, Colo., provided testimony for a trial in which he said Saudi officials poured money into the terror network in the 1990s.

    Suzanne Newton Phipps may have been born and raised in small-town Colorado, but a seemingly unquenchable thirst for adventure and new challenges enabled her to lead a life filled with the kind of adventures few are privileged to experience. Phipps, who was 77 when she died Dec. 2 from a previously undiagnosed autoimmune disease, worked for Metro Goldwyn Mayer in Spain, started a golf magazine in Puerto Rico, operated two public relations and advertising firms in Denver, served as director of economic development for both Jefferson and Fremont counties, and for the past 10 years had led an effort to restore the historic Rialto Theater in Florence.
