    Edaleen Dairy opened its fifth store in Whatcom County this week, becoming the newsest tenant at the new retail center Ferndale Crossings on Second Avenue and Portal Way, just west of Interstate 5. Along with two stores in Lynden, the company has shops in Blaine and Sumas, all selling a wide variety of dairy products, including ice cream, milk, cheese and butter. The first store opened on Guide Meridian in 1975, the year Ed and Aileen Brandsma started what was then a small family business.
