    The Allegan County Sheriffs Department says that an 18 year old Fennville man was killed on Thursday morning when his Jeep crashed into a tree. It happened shortly before one AM on 116th Avenue, west of 48th Street, in Clyde Township when the teen lost control of the vehicle on a curve.

    An 18-year-old Fennville man perished just after midnight in a single-vehicle crash near the Valley/Clyde township line. Cody Lee Valentine's SUV was speeding westbound on 116th Avenue and had passed 48th Street when it failed to negotiate a curve in a heavily-wooded area, veered left, struck and tree and rolled into a ditch, landing on its side.

    Initial evidence showed that a Jeep Cherokee driven by Cody Lee Valentine was traveling westbound on 116th Avenue west of 48th Street at a high rate of speed considering it is a gravel and narrow road in a wooded area. The vehicle went off the road while going around a curve and hit a tree on the driver's side around 12:50 a.m. Thursday.
