Diversion supporters finish revised plan for stalled project

The group sponsoring a Red River diversion channel around the Fargo area has completed a revised plan in hopes of reviving the stalled project. The new plan came after the North Dakota and Minnesota governors assembled a task force to study the project that was halted by a federal judge because it didn't have a permit from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Comment?

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Investigation says a State Patrol trooper shot and wounded a woman during an encounter along the interstate near Moorhead. And, a male passenger in the woman's vehicle was arrested during that encounter Monday. Comment?

The crash happened at an intersection on Highway 10 around noon Saturday. Police say an eastbound pickup struck the rear of a vehicle occupied by two adults and the child. Comment?

A Chicago man is being held without bond in the 2016 fatal shooting of a woman whose body was dumped in the city's Englewood neighborhood. Cook County prosecutors say David White killed 19-year-old Fatima Muhammad for telling the mother of one of White's children he was flirting with her. Comment?

Burgum: Will discuss flood project changes with Minnesota

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum says he and Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton have agreed to see if technical changes can be made to restart a $2.2 billion flood diversity project around the Fargo-Moorhead area. Burgum says he and Dayton talked by phone Tuesday "to try to find a path forward" for the Red River diversion project. Comment?

Federal judge blocks work on Fargo-Moorhead flood project

U.S. District Judge John Tunheim ruled Thursday the project needs to obtain the necessary permits from Minnesota before construction can proceed. Minnesota so far has rejected the permits. Comment?
